An American mercenary who previously served in the Oregon National Guard, 34-year-old Sergeant Cruz Michael Bryan , was killed in the SMO zone, reports the Oregon portal Prineville Review, citing his comrades and relatives.

According to the site, the American was discharged from the state army in May after 14 years of service, after which he went to Ukraine; on July 15, he was killed during fighting in the conflict zone.

“Brian, who previously served in the 41st Oregon Infantry Brigade, saw combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to sources close to him,” the article says.
